oh, mother

As a young girl, someone once told me I had a spirit and heart similar to that of Mother Teresa. Back then, I did not know who Mother Teresa was or what she did. For my Birthday, my Mother gave me a biography on her 

as well as a book filled with quotes on LOVE.

Reading her biographies, I have gained a personal empathy for who she is and what she accomplished in her lifetime. I have tried to really engage myself in her philosophies and the way she saw the World but overtime,

 I seemed to have forgotten. 

Until this morning, I had an intense conversation with my Mother about really finding myself and becoming the person I want to be. For a few years, I was really lost out in the world and I realized it was because I let fear overcome the love in my life. Fear came in and began to destroy my strengths, my abilities, my future and myself. Knowing you only have one shot at life is a determination for me to do the  best possible thing and be the best possible person. From this day forward I realize the things I want in life, the people who mean the most and the people who do not. I realize the momentary joys and the joys that will last you a lifetime. I realize what is important and what is not. I realize the difference between wrong and right and most importantly, I am beginning to realize the difference between fear and love.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. 

Life is beauty, admire it. 

Life is a dream, realize it. 

Life is a challenge, meet it. 

Life is a duty, complete it. 

Life is a game, play it. 

Life is a promise, fulfill it. 

Life is sorrow, overcome it. 

Life is a song, sing it. 

Life is a struggle, accept it. 

Life is a tragedy, confront it. 

Life is an adventure, dare it. 

Life is luck, make it. 

Life is too precious, do not destroy it. 

Life is life, fight for it.

So thank you Mother Teresa, my own Mother

 and especially God for putting me back where I belong.
