"Don't try to change away from what you are not,
only change towards what you can become."
Wise words from a young Saint. This morning I came downstairs to a surprised note on my Kitchen Table that was written to me from a friend I had met up at School that is now on a Mission for the LDS church. For the past six months, I have been slacking on writing him back but I commend him for his efforts in still sending me letters once a month. But I especially want to thank him for today's letters. The quote above was some advice he gave me at the end of his letter that really struck home for me. For the last little while, I have been focusing a lot of what I am not doing and not looking forward of what I can become. I don't know how or why he still said the things he did but I really needed it. And this isn't the first time it has happened. Him, along with others, have written me advice or have shared personal feelings that have helped me through rocky times of confusion and frustration.
Even though Missionaries are called to serve to a specific area, I still feel as if their dedication and love for the Church spreads not only through their assigned areas, but back home to their friends and family that they write. So thank you to those of you who have written me your testimonies and missionary experiences.
I live through your letters continuously.
ahhh! gotta love missionaries =]
