For all the women: Ever since we were dressing up our dolls, playing barbies or coming up with the next jump rope rhyme during recess, we've secretly been planning little gimmicks for our wedding day for years.
So gentlemen, you have a lot of catching up to do.
For the past couple of months there is a pile of wedding announcements collecting up on the dresser next to my bedpost. For the past couple of months, I have been logging on to Facebook and keep seeing little red hearts popping up all over the place with a new announcement of someone getting "engaged" or "in a relationship with." For the past couple of months, I have seen pictures of my friends bellies getting bigger and bigger with a little babe inside. For the past couple of months my mind has been thinking all about boys, weddings and babies.
Kind of a bad combo to think about, huh?
But don't worry padres, I promise I won't come home with a diamond on my finger or a little beesh in my stomach. I am just day dreaming. Day dreaming of my perfect day with my perfect man; and being around my friends who are now in the married life and are starting their own beautiful family, one can't help but to day dream and be jealous of their life. So I just have to rant and spill a little confession: I want to find my prince charming and have my own family.
But lets be realistic, I only want this because I see my own friends find their other half, have their own perfect day and read and see pictures of how fun married life really is. In all honesty, I am nowhere near marriage with any of the men in my life and I probably won't be for another year or two down the road but as of lately,
I am love shot.
My day will come when I am walking down the isle in my white dress and see my gorgeous stallion standing there across the room. My day will come when he and I seal the deal and are living happily ever after. My day will come when I get that little red heart on Facebook and find myself "in a relationship" or "enagaged." And my day will come when, I to, get that wedding day.
I know that there is someone out there for me. I may find him tomorrow, in a week or five to ten years down the road but I am willing to wait. And as for my beautiful girlfriends and their own prince charming, I congratulate you for the love you have found and I am excited for you to become that little house wife with your little babes and beauties running around everywhere. And as for me, I'll stick with my love for hiking, the outdoors, family and music to keep me entertained
until my other half comes along.
