truth at its finest

I have come to realize that we live in a confused World,
but that doesn't surprise me.
Have you ever stopped to think about how much our
World revolves around numbers.
Have you ever stopped to realize how you and others
judge something or someone solely on a number.
Have you ever stopped to notice that you, yourself, may be just a number.

The World is obsessed with numbers and I realized just the other day, we may be obsessing a little too much on something so worthless. We may be thinking a little too hard on something so simple. We may be letting
just a simple number, destroy our life;
The amount of money we have, the amount of money we do not have, the amount of credits you need to take in order to graduate, the number you receive on a test, quiz or assignment. The number of friends you have on Facebook. The number of texts, e-mails, and phonecalls you receive each day. The amount of time you are able to have or not have in a day. The amount of hours and pay you receive at work. The position you are ranked in your class. The number of compliments, put-downs, hello's and goodbye's. The amount of broken hearts, kisses and hugs one receives in their lifetime.
The high's and low's of life is all about that one simple number.

Question is, do we let that number affect our lives? In all reality, we have no choice. Society has let numbers control our lives, alter our behaviors and determine our placement in the World. It really is heartbreaking to let such a simple thing, control so much of the World and ourselves. Out of the millions of people in this World, we are all faced with the same dilemma of fighting this battle between numbers in every given day. But truth is, does it really matter?

It blows my mind to think how much the World has control and who or what started it. It blows my mind to think how we are so quick to be controlled, intimidated and replaced by a number. It blows my mind that several people in this World will give more respect to a number than an actual human being. It blows my mind that others may have no control or strength to fight against the World and inflict their own number on themselves.

I just hope you are not one of those individual's who place that number for yourself. You aren't just another number in this World, you are a person who has its own ideas, dreams, values, emotions and thoughts that mean something. You are a person who has a lot to offer in this World. Do not let a simple number control your life. It isn't what determines your happiness. Let yourself break free from what everyone else thinks, says or does, and let yourself represent you.
