something about the number four

You can never truly get rid of your best friend...
because they are in all your best memories.

Four years ago in November, I met my best friend Casey Nichelle Cook. Without her in my life, I honestly do not know where I would be, what I would be like or who I would become if it wasn't for her.

She helped me open my eyes throughout the most crucial times in life. It isn't a coincidence that her and I just happened to sit next to each other in the same tenth grade health class. It isn't a coincidence that her and I happen to share the same taste in music, boys, passions, realities and heartaches. It isn't a coincidence that her and I keep moving in the same direction whether it is by moving houses by each other to moving in the same direction
with our own ambitions and goals.

A best friend is one who reaches for your hand but touches your heart. Best friends are with you the yesterday before the beginning and will be there until the tomorrow after forever. Friendship isn't a big thing - it is a million little things. Your friend will call you a retard but your best friend will be there acting like one with you. Best friends are there for you even if you refuse to talk to them. Because they know, deep down, the silence is killing you. A best friend isn't someone who is always there for you. It is someone who understands you a bit more than you understand yourself.

Our friendship is a combined effort. We truly are each other's other halves; and I am sure that all of Utah County can attest that we come in a package. Because of her, I have found my hidden strengths. Because of her, I have found passions I thought I could never have. Because of her, I conquered fears I didn't think could be conquered. Because of her, I have found more of myself than I would if I tried it on my own. Because of her, I find myself listening to Country music, wishing I could hunt, and knowing that it is okay to give your heart out and let people get to know you. There are days where we don't always see eye-to-eye, but lets be realistic, that's what makes this friendship worth it.
It isn't a coincidence, but rather complete luck that I found my best friend.
