a picnic in paradise

First checklist off my summer bucket list happened this afternoon and that is. . .

. . .TO HAVE A LEGITIMATE PICNIC
Josh couldn't have done it more perfectly. He overheard me say how I wanted to have a standard picnic with a red and white checkered blanket and basket (like little red riding hood status). And to my surprise, that is exactly what we did. He surprised me this afternoon with a drive up the canyon to a park called Upper Falls where it is surrounded by a field of green grass covered in bright yellow daisies. There is also a river running alongside the field that completed the beautiful scenery. It couldn't have been a more perfect day with no cloud in the sky.
To my surprise, he brought out the whicker basket full of all my favorite foods. Steak, a large bowl of my favorite fruits, another large bowl with peas and my favorite smoothie drink. I was literally in paradise and could not stop smiling. But of course with my luck, I ended up getting a bloody nose as soon as we were about to eat. Talk about a buzz kill and ruining the romantic moment. But thank goodness Josh has a sense of humor and laughed it out and helped me get some tissues as I was in a state of complete embarrassment.
To take my mind off of what just occurred, we decided to go on a hike to Upper Falls. It is one of my favorite hikes up in Provo Canyon because even though it is a short hike, the reward in the end is astounding. In my opinion, the upper falls is one of the most gorgeous waterfalls along with an amazing view both up and down.
So thank you Josh for making me feel special today (despite my little incident)
and giving me my first official picnic in paradise.
