Attention men: this is for you. To all the men in the world that have lived, that lives today and will live in the future. To all the men who have been apart of my life since day one. To all the men that have influenced me and taught me what I know today. To all the men I love most; my brothers, in-laws, nephews and most importantly, my father.
I love you all with my entire heart.
You are the most incredible people I have ever had the chance to meet. I have never been so grateful than to be blessed with such amazing men in my life.
To Brigham: thank you for bringing the love of BYU athletics to my family and for teaching me how to accomplish a dream no matter how many years it may take or hard it may be to accomplish. Dustin: thank you for finding my love for cars and mechanics, for teaching me that you can overcome any adversity that life throws your way and for showing me that it is never too late to find something that inspires you (which in this case is music). David: thank you for toughing me up while I was growing up and getting me involved in several sports. I will never regret growing up with brothers that taught me how to fight, wrestle, stand up for myself and push myself through any sport. Danny: thank you for being my best friend and traveling the World with me. I have taken several of our talks, experiences and difficulties to heart and would not trade any of them. Daddy: Over this last year, I have come to realize that I am more of a Daddy's girl than I ever thought I could be. You and I have so many characteristics, personality traits and physical features that connect you and I. I have learned so much about you this past year through myself as well as watching you. You are the most humble man I know, and not once through my twenty years of living, have I ever seen you angry, raise your voice or talk badly of others. Your love and admiration for people and the world is truly inspiring. I am forever grateful to have personality traits similar to yours and hope to have a spirit as bright as yours, be half the person you are and to marry a future husband that is as close to you as he could ever be.

So thank you men for being men. Despite your lack of attentiveness and your lack of knowledge of woman, I do not know how this world would be without you. You are the men that keep this world moving forward, the men that will get down and dirty for any job, can fix any unsolved problem and can provide peace and stability for a family. Happy Father's Day to you. You deserve it all.
Alicia, you are right, we are a lot alike. Thank you for sharing. I'm a little slow in reading your blog until now. I admire you for your love for life, your love for people and your love for the outdoors. This is how I was at your age. I want to return to being more like this and less like what I have become. Maybe you can help me along my journey to remember the fun and the joy. I love you!!
ReplyDeleteWow Alicia-that was amazing. You have a gift with words. Love my sis, an I am excited to share that with Brig.
