simple treasures

For the past two days I have been playing Mom; 
and no, it didn't make me baby hungry nor did it make me dislike kids 
but it did make me wish I had a baby sister or brother. 

Luckily, the two little munchkins I was able to watch were 

my adorable niece and my studly little nephew.Just look at these two, 
who wouldn't want to spend time with them for a couple of days.

Spending time with these babes made me find my inner kid. It's true when they say that only a child or baby can make adults look like complete idiots in any given situation. But hey, at least the kids are enjoying it and it puts a smile on their face, right. Although I may have publicly humiliated myself at maceys trying to see who could have the biggest ice cream mustache or who could crawl like a baby the fastest. But I can honestly say I loved every minute of it. I loved reading bedtime stories and singing my niece to sleep and surprisingly, I even enjoyed changing a diaper (even if I did put it on backwards). 

I learn so much from these two babes, like how to put on a diaper right, or that I am coloring my picture wrong because rainbows are supposed to be all pink instead of all the different colors. They teach me that life is all about the fun and that you should enjoy every minute of it without no worries. They teach me to use my imagination and that you can be as creative as you want -- all you have to do is close your eyes and really believe you are there. No one can stop you from believing or dreaming. But most importantly, they teach me the simple treasures of life and the simplicity of love.

I love my niece and nephew with my whole heart and I am so grateful that my Sister let me watch them for the past couple of days. I gained more out of it than what I had to give up. And it's true when they say that children see life at a bigger and brighter perspective and live life in pure joy.
